Bengeo & Rural Parish Council put out a tender for a new play park in Tonwell in Hertfordshire, and as their local play company we were thrilled to win the contract.

The centrepiece to the project was this bespoke climbing frame based on the water tower at Tonwell, which is a local landmark (visible in the background!). The grey of the tower structure and the blue panels (to represent the water) create a striking contrast.

The Water Tower climber was contrasted with a more compact design for toddlers and smaller children, with a multi-level design to provide different levels of challenge for different age groups.

A basket swing provides a fun space for parents and little ones, children or small groups of friends to enjoy the thrill of gently swinging through the air.

An adventure trail creates an engaging barrier between the different play provisions. Rubber matting provides fall protection and an anti-erosion measure around the higher level, more challenging activities.

Part of the tender brief was to enclose the space in fencing, so we proposed green metal bow-top fencing, that is muted in it’s appearance whilst still providing a durable barrier to enclose the park.

Well done to all our designers and installers who made this project happen!
